it's the end of endo awareness month... you and your pain deserve to be taken seriously.

it's the end of endo awareness month... you and your pain deserve to be taken seriously.

at monthly, we’re here to support you in having a comfier period, in whatever way we can.
and while that does include our products, i want to be honest:

comfort doesn’t start and end with product design.
it’s also about being understood.
being taken seriously.
and having conversations that a lot of people still aren’t ready for!!!

march is endometriosis awareness month.

and there are still so many people who don’t know what endometriosis is... despite it affecting 1 in 10 people assigned female at birth.

it can look like:
  • heavy bleeding
  • extreme cramps
  • chronic pelvic pain
  • irregular periods…
  • and more.

it impacts people’s daily lives, their work, their relationships... everything.

and on average, it takes 8–9 years to get diagnosed.

8–9 years of being in pain and not having answers.

i’ve learned so much from people who openly share their experiences with endo (shoutout to Ave + Emma 💌), that kind of visibility is powerful. it’s what helps move these conversations forward!
because without it… a lot of people still don’t get it.

i was reminded of that recently when i was pitching monthly.
after explaining how we design for people with endo, PCOS, pelvic pain, gender dysphoria…
someone told me:

“i just don’t get why anyone has issues with products in the superstore.”
and then:
you should market this to boyfriends ... so they don’t have to go in the period aisle.” 🙃

that moment stuck with me.

not because it was surprising… but because it’s exactly why this work matters.

there’s still such a gap in understanding, empathy, and care in this space.

and that’s why conversations like this - and people like you - matter so much.

as we close out endometriosis awareness month, i just want to remind you:
you deserve comfort.
you deserve to be listened to.
you deserve better than being told to “just deal with it.”
and i’m here, building monthly with you to keep pushing for that.
through better products, yes, but also through education, advocacy, and honest conversations.

let’s keep talking about it.
let’s keep pushing for more comfort, more understanding, and more care.
xoxo,
aiko 💌
