For too long people who menstruate have been expected to make do with less than ideal products. That stops now. Hi! I’m Aiko & I’m the CEO and Founder of Monthly and I want to share my journey with you. It all started in 2020 when I started a charity project to address the issue of period poverty. We donated pads and tampons to those in need, and I found a growing passion in that work. In late 2020, donations slowed, and I pivoted to create monthly. Ironically, it was also in 2020 when I started wearing period underwear after suffering pelvic floor issues and no longer being able to use my trusty menstrual cup without pain. I loved period underwear, but knew they could be better - hence the reason why monthly makes period underwear. My passion is to include those who have been historically left out of the conversation of periods and to elevate people's period stories to challenge the singular narrative and stigma and to use those voices to create better period care for all people. Outside of work, I am a Depop fanatic, park grazer, matcha drinker, and a pursuer of capturing the small magic moments in life.
